Libby Oldfield

Libby Oldfield

Libby Oldfield is a Specialist Continence and Women’s Health physiotherapist and Co-Director of Fitwise Physiotherapy.

Libby has been successfully helping women of all ages achieve their physical health goals for many years. She has a special interest in the health and wellbeing of older women, developing programs, conducting classes, giving talks to the general public and lecturing at the University of Melbourne. Pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic girdle pain and Clinical Pilates are also major interests of Libby’s.

Libby has 2 adult sons and and 2 small grandsons (what an exciting world has opened up). She is also passionately occupied in her spare time with playing tennis, patchwork and quilting.

Gen McGlashan

Gen McGlashan

Gen McGlashan is a Specialist Continence and Women’s Health Physiotherapist and Co-Director of Fitwise Physiotherapy.

Gen has extensive experience successfully helping many women achieve their goals, with expertise and a special interest in Pelvic Girdle Pain, Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation, and exercise programs for women of all ages. She also enjoys lecturing and clinical supervision for undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students, where she lectures on topics such as: Exercise in Pregnancy and Pelvic Girdle Pain.

Gen is a very keen exerciser, particularly Pump, Spin and Combat classes and Clinical Pilates. She also loves spending time with her husband and three children and supporting them in their many sports and activities!

Julienne Moore

Julienne Moore *Currently on extended leave

Julienne Moore is an APA Titled Continence and Women's Health Physiotherapist and associate at Fitwise Physiotherapy. Julienne has been part of the Fitwise team since 2008.

Julienne enjoys the challenge of treating low back and pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction and through her love of exercise, helps her patients keep active, return to exercise, or begin exercise for the first time.

Julienne is a very active mother of 2 children and is also a keen cyclist.

Claire Ryan

Claire Maule (nee Ryan) *Currently only working at the wards

Claire is an Associate Physiotherapist at Fitwise, having being a part of the Fitwise team since 2008. She has career interests that include exercise for women during the childbearing years and beyond, Clinical Pilates, low back and pelvic girdle pain, pelvic floor dysfunction and promoting health and wellbeing at all ages and stages of life.

On a personal note, Claire enjoys Pilates, running, and spending time with her husband and 3 young children. 

Anita Bir

Anita Bir

Anita graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2009 as a Physiotherapist and also completed a Masters of Physiotherapy with Majors in Women's Health & Musculoskeletal Health at the University of Melbourne in 2014. She has completed all four levels of DMA Clinical Pilates training, Dry Needling certification as well as qualifications in Sports Physiotherapy and endeavours to provide holistic management for her patients combining manual and exercise therapies to help them achieve their goals. She has a keen interest in treating complex pelvic floor conditions affecting men, women and the LGBTQi community which include incontinence, pelvic pain and prolapse.

Anita is also an experienced ante-natal educator and provides tailored birthing education sessions for pregnant women and their support partners in our “Birthwise” sessions. She loves to help prepare women for the mental and physical journey ahead and provide women a toolkit of resources to use on the big day. Anita has extensive experience in treating complex musculoskeletal issues and a wide variety of injuries. Outside the clinic, she enjoys presenting on Women’s Health related topics at professional development courses. Anita also teaches post graduate Physiotherapists and Doctors at the University of Melbourne and helped develop the Masters of Sports Medicine at the University of Melbourne. She is Vice Chair of the Victorian Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic Health Committee and has been an integral part of National Scientific Committees for the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

On a personal note, Anita loves to dance and is an accomplished classical Indian dancer. She is also fluent in Hindi and Punjabi.

Rachel Bell

Rachel graduated from La Trobe In 2007 with a double degree in Physiotherapy and Ergonomics. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings, both within the public and private sectors before joining Fitwise in 2013. 

Rachel is passionate about well-being especially during the childbearing years. After just recently having had two kids herself, Rachel understands the challenges around prioritising health and fitness during this period. One of Rachel’s keen interests is in Clinical Pilates and she thoroughly enjoys instructing programs for rehabilitation and general fitness across any life stage.

When not at work, Rachel loves spending time with her husband and two very busy kids, playing netball and baking. 

Cherry de Crespigny

Cherry de Crespigny

Cherry graduated in 1998 from Curtin University, Perth WA and has worked in a range of public and private settings in Australia and the UK, and more recently in Hong Kong.  She completed her post graduate certificate in pelvic floor Physiotherapy in 2016 and has a keen interest in pre and post natal well being, as well as pelvic floor health.  

Over the years Cherry has completed various Clinical Pilates training courses and has seen it's benefits in rehabilitating and preventing injuries and promoting good posture, core and pelvic floor function.  She loves that Pilates can benefit clients of all levels of fitness.  

Having two young boys of her own, Cherry understands the importance of safe exercise during pregnancy and the post natal recovery period, and enjoys helping clients get back to their own pre pregnancy fitness levels.

In her spare time, Cherry is a keen runner, hiker and swimmer.

Fiona Grouber

Fiona graduated from La Trobe University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences/Masters of Physiotherapy Practice. Delving into her passion in pelvic floor dysfunction and Women's Health Physiotherapy, she completed her Post-Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne in 2017. She has a special interest in neck pain/headaches, chronic low back pain and peri-natal care.

Fiona is a firm believer in the ‘power of Pilates’ and has completed the entire Clinical Pilates equipment series with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI). She is additionally qualified in Dry Needling and utilises this where appropriate. She also works as a Physiotherapist on the maternity ward at Cabrini Hospital, delivering acute care to new mothers and running antenatal exercise classes.

Fiona recently completed the PINC Cancer Rehabilitation course, focusing on exercise prescription for women throughout all stages of their cancer journey.

She enjoys leading an active lifestyle, particularly running and HIIT classes. Fiona is tri-lingual, speaking French and Russian too! She is an avid traveler, already having visited 22 countries, and is hoping to continue exploring new cities and cuisines soon (post COVID of course).

Phoebe Kipen

Phoebe graduated from Monash in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science and Honours in Developmental Biology. After working for the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute for a year she went back to Monash to study Physiotherapy, graduating in 2018 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hon).

Phoebe is passionate about incorporating her science background into her clinical practice as a Physiotherapist. Her work in reproductive biology has given her an interest in men’s and women’s health. She has a clinical interest in lower limb, pelvis and low back conditions and enjoys working with clients to change chronic conditions as well as treating acute pain. She also has an interest in dance related injuries, completing a short placement with the Australian Ballet during her training.

Outside of work, Phoebe loves to be active and creative making jewelry, drawing and Irish dancing as much as possible.

    Joanna is currently on leave until October 2021

    Joanna Graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland in 2012.

    She worked as a Physiotherapist for the National Health Service in the South West of England for a number of years before relocating to Melbourne in 2016. Since arriving in Australia, Joanna has worked in both the private and public sector, predominantly in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.

    Joanna has completed postgraduate training in DMA Clinical Pilates. She endeavours to provide holistic treatment combining, exercise, manual therapy and mindfulness techniques where possible to help her clients achieve their goals.

    Outside of work Joanna is passionate about keeping fit and active. She is happiest when in the great outdoors, running, cycling, swimming or hiking. She has completed numerous half marathons, triathlons and a half iron man. Joanna also enjoys yoga and meditation and strives to bring her passion for a healthy and active body and mind to her treatment sessions.

    Lauren Cairns

    Lauren graduated from Griffith University in 2011 with a degree in Physiotherapy and Exercise Science. Since then she has worked extensively within the community health setting in North Queensland before moving to Melbourne at the end of 2016. 

    Lauren has always had an interest in women’s and pelvic health which led to her commencing the Masters in Continence and Women’s health program through Curtin University. She is passionate about the benefits of exercise and education to empower women in the management of their condition throughout the life stages. 

    Outside of work Lauren loves to travel, read a great book and she also enjoys swimming.  So far, she is loving the Melbourne weather and definitely the lower humidity.

    Sarah Henderson

    Sarah graduated with a Masters degree in Physiotherapy from Griffith University in 2013 after completing an undergraduate Bachelor of Exercise Science. She has worked exclusively in private practice since graduating and has extensive knowledge of musculoskeletal and sports-specific injuries, as well as exercise-based rehabilitation and Clinical Pilates.

    After training in Women’s Health while in the UK, Sarah is currently undertaking an additional Masters in Pelvic Health at the University of Melbourne. She has a particular interest in pelvic floor rehabilitation, pelvic girdle pain and pre-and post-natal care, remaining passionate about patient advocacy, education and empowerment for all ages.

    Outside work Sarah loves being outdoors, weekends are spent going hiking/camping/swimming and occasionally surfing, where she relies mostly on her enthusiasm rather than skill!

    Rhiannon Whale *Currently on extended leave

    Rhiannon graduated from the University of the West of England in 2015 with a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy.   She then worked as a Physiotherapist in the National Health Service (UK) for a number of years in a large variety of clinical settings.  She has lots of experience with musculoskeletal conditions and injuries, exercise rehabilitation and providing a holistic approach to treatment.  Rhiannon has a passion for Women's and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy.  She more recently worked as Senior Pelvic Health Physiotherapist in the UK where she undertook specific Women's and Pelvic Health training.  She has also worked in private practice in the UK and in Melbourne since she relocated here. 
    Rhiannon has a special interest in pelvic floor rehabilitation, perinatal care and post-natal return to exercise.  She is passionate about enabling women to achieve their goals throughout all life stages.  
    Outside of work Rhiannon enjoys travelling,  going to the beach and the gym!  She was a dancer in her earlier years, followed by being a high-level rower and continues to enjoy watching and participating in sport.

    Sithara Wijewardena

    Sithara graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2006 as a physiotherapist and has extensive experience in both private practice and hospital settings. Since graduating, the primary focus of her work has been treating musculoskeletal patients.

    Sithara has managed sub-acute inpatients and outpatients following spinal and joint surgeries, patients with osteoarthritis and patients with chronic/persistent pain. During this time, she developed the Pilates program for post-operative patients and the fibromyalgia program for patients experiencing chronic pain. Sithara is an accredited GLA:D practitioner; GLA:D is an internationally accredited evidence-based program for managing patients experiencing osteoarthritis of the hip or knee.

    Sithara has also been involved with the development of the clinical school at a tertiary hospital and the concurrent academic development and supervision of physiotherapy students. She served as an adjunct lecturer of physiotherapy at LaTrobe University.

    Sithara is passionate in minimising the impact of musculoskeletal dysfunction and empowering women with the necessary tools to manage their health through all stages of life.

    In her spare time Sithara is busy with her family, which includes her two young children. She loves Latin dancing, making cakes and travelling.

    Sophia Cartledge

    Sophia is a friendly and empathetic person who loves to work closely with individuals to help them become their happiest and healthiest selves. She values a holistic treatment approach, always ensuring that all aspects of a person’s life are considered to deliver the best possible care. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Melbourne before completing her Master of Physiotherapy Practice at La Trobe University.

    She values an active approach to rehabilitation and has completed her full Pilates training through APPI which she enjoys using to provide effective, creative and innovative exercise programs to her patients. She has experience working with women throughout their pregnancy journey and feels incredibly privileged to support women as they enter into motherhood, creating a safe and healing space for them to feel empowered and cared for. Having been a competitive swimmer growing up, Sophia also enjoys working with people to help them return to their chosen sports or activities and keep them enjoying an active lifestyle.

    Outside of work, Sophia enjoys staying active and particularly loves getting in the pool on a paddle board or on the bike. She also loves spending time in the kitchen getting creative and working on new recipes…especially anything with chocolate in it!

    Olivia Sabatier

    Olivia graduated from La Trobe University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Masters of Physiotherapy. After spending time in public hospital and private practice settings, she has gained experience managing a wide range of acute injuries, chronic conditions and treating women’s health issues across the lifespan.

    Olivia has been teaching yoga since 2016, and particularly enjoys guiding pre/post-natal and Mums & Bubs classes. Beyond the physical practice of yoga, Olivia has seen great benefits in utilising breathing techniques and meditation in the clinical setting. Olivia also has experience teaching and practicing Pilates in all its forms: matwork, clinical and higher-level fitness pilates on the reformer. Other treatment tools under her belt include massage, mobilisations and dry-needling. Her particular area of interest in Women’s Health is pre-natal exercise and rebuilding the strength and conditioning required for both the everyday demands of motherhood, and higher-level exercise like running post-partum.

    Outside of work, Olivia practices yoga and meditation, runs, and sings like no one is listening to The Wiggles with her son. Favouring her green thumb, her lockdown pastimes have included putting love into her herb garden, and home-brewing eco-friendly cleaning products.

    Lily is qualified in Myotherapy and Remedial Massage Therapy from RMIT. 

    She is passionate about Women's health and is finishing her certificate qualification in pregnancy massage. With the practice of remedial massage she hopes to help clients achieve optimal health and well-being through massage therapy.

    Miho Arai – Remedial Massage Therapist

    Miho is a qualified remedial massage therapist with over 10 years of experience in Japan and Australia. Her goal is to help people live better with a healthy body and mind by utilizing a holistic approach to healing.

    She has skills that blend various techniques such as myofascial, deep tissue, sports massage, trigger point and acupressure, among others.

    Miho believes that a healthy balance of massage and exercise is key for a sustainable and happy lifestyle. 

    In her spare time, she enjoys doing Pilates, spending time outdoors in nature, meditation and music.

    Diane Choi – Myotherapist and Remedial Massage Therapist

    Diane is a highly experienced myotherapist who has been practising remedial massage since 2008, having gained her qualification with the Melbourne Institute of Massage Therapy.

    Her treatment is tailored and focussed to your individual condition and preferences, to ensure that you walk away with the best result. 

    In her treatment Diane is able to use a range of techniques, that suit and are appropriate for your concerns. These include dry needling, cupping, acupressure and deep tissue massage. 

    Being a physical therapist, she is deeply interested in pain management and recovery of repetitive strain injury, particularly in lower back region.

    Outside of work, she enjoys going for walks and spending time with friends.

    Andrea Carloni – Remedial Massage Therapist

    Andrea was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and knew at an early age that she had a passion for assisting those with concerns. She has worked in various positions in the health and wellness field since 2008, although has gained an abundant interest in the neurological rehabilitation processes of injuries, trauma and recovery. Andrea strongly believes in a holistic approach to healthcare by utilising and sharing her knowledge, skills and up to date research to educate and empower her clients to reach their goals.

    She is currently in her last year of the Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Myotherapy) program, and is looking forward to continuing her studies and enhancing her knowledge postgraduate in the Paediatrics, Women’s Health and Research sectors.

    Apart from work, you can find Andrea enjoying a healthy and active lifestyle embracing the outdoors, practicing meditation, mindfulness and self-awareness, cooking and baking, and hanging out with friends and their little fur babies at dog parks.

    Emma Caldwell – Accredited Practicing Dietitian

    Emma graduated from the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2010. She is an experienced Accredited Practicing Dietitian having worked across various Melbourne public and private hospitals in the acute and rehabilitation streams for the the past 9 years. 

    Emma specialises in pregnancy, fertility & infant/childhood nutrition. Having successfully completed the Early Life Nutrition Workshop with Nutrition Plus in 2019, Emma has since become inspired to study to become a Lactation Consultant (due to finish late 2020). Emma particularly loves working with mums-to-be and new mums to help uncomplicated pregnancy nutrition. 

    Emma's other speciality lies within the Non-Diet approach. Utilising health at every size (HAES) principles, Emma helps her clients improve their diet and lifestyle through a nurturing, client-centred approach. Emma loves seeing her clients meet their goals and strongly believes in a holistic approach to improve all aspects of health. 

    When not at work, Emma enjoys spending time with her family, her husband and two young children. 

    In her "spare" time, Emma is a bit of a gym-junkie, having previously taught Les Mills BodyPump and BodyStep classes, she loves a good workout, followed by strong Melbourne coffee.

    Lee has been very happily working at Fitwise since early in 2011. Her working life has always revolved around the health/medical industry and she has managed specialist practices for many years. She loves the culture at Fitwise, the wonderful staff and stopping for a chat with patients as she wanders through the waiting room.

    Lee is married with 2 beautiful 'young adult' children and outside of work enjoys dabbling in non-professional theatre, reading and ‘cooking up a storm’ to entertain friends.

    Sharna joined the Fitwise team early in 2012.  

    Sharna and her husband are kept very busy by their 3 beautiful children; a daughter and two sons. 

    In her spare time, she most enjoys family camping trips, playing and watching basketball, spending time in the veggie patch and going on runs with Zarla, their very, very spoilt dog.

    She looks forward to exploring more of Australia with her family in the future.

    Rebecca joined the Fitwise Team in May 2014. Rebecca is an avid photographer, she enjoys photographing nature, people and of course, her cat.

    Rebecca has a deep interest in many forms of art, such as reading and heavy metal music and enjoys adventures to Scandinavia.

    Courtenay joined the Fitwise team in Jan 2021 and has a background in legal reception, administration and management.

    Courtenay lives with her boyfriend and their four legged feline son, Mister Chonkers (aka Chonky Boy). 

    Court loves to sing and is a passionate Taylor Swift fan! She enjoys socializing with her friends and binge watching The Office!

    Georgina has been working across both practices keeping clients happy since June 2016 and more recently has been looking after administration at Armadale.

    Georgina hopes to return to study a health-related postgraduate course next year and, outside of work, she enjoys baking for friends and family, watching movies and swimming.

    Felicity joined the Fitwise team in January 2018.  She is studying Business and Arts at Monash University after returning from her gap year in the U.K.

    Felicity enjoys travelling, healthy baking and running across all parts of beautiful Melbourne.

    Mimi joined the Fitwise team in February 2020 and works across both practices in East Melbourne and Armadale!

    In her spare time, Mimi enjoys reading, learning to roller skate and working on personal art projects. 

    She has hopes of becoming a cat owner in the future despite her allergies!

    Emelia joined the Fitwise team in March 2020 and can be seen welcoming patients at both the East Melbourne and Armadale practices.

    When she’s not working, Emelia spends her free time enjoying brunch, historical novels, going to the theatre and exploring art! 

    She is also the proud parent of her lovely child - her pet, that is.

    When she is not working at Fitwise, Cat is also a rowing coach and is studying.
