Libby Oldfield

Libby Oldfield

Libby Oldfield is a Specialist Continence and Women’s Health physiotherapist and Co-Director of Fitwise Physiotherapy.

Libby has been successfully helping women of all ages achieve their physical health goals for many years. She has a special interest in the health and wellbeing of older women, developing programs, conducting classes, giving talks to the general public and lecturing at the University of Melbourne. Pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic girdle pain and Clinical Pilates are also major interests of Libby’s.

Libby has 2 adult sons and and 2 small grandsons (what an exciting world has opened up). She is also passionately occupied in her spare time with playing tennis, patchwork and quilting.

Gen McGlashan

Gen McGlashan

Gen McGlashan is a Specialist Continence and Women’s Health Physiotherapist and Co-Director of Fitwise Physiotherapy.

Gen has extensive experience successfully helping many women achieve their goals, with expertise and a special interest in Pelvic Girdle Pain, Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation, and exercise programs for women of all ages. She also enjoys lecturing and clinical supervision for undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students, where she lectures on topics such as: Exercise in Pregnancy and Pelvic Girdle Pain.

Gen is a very keen exerciser, particularly Pump, Spin and Combat classes and Clinical Pilates. She also loves spending time with her husband and three children and supporting them in their many sports and activities!

Julienne Moore

Julienne Moore

Julienne Moore is an APA Titled Continence and Women's Health Physiotherapist and associate at Fitwise Physiotherapy. Julienne has been part of the Fitwise team since 2008.

Julienne enjoys the challenge of treating low back and pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction and through her love of exercise, helps her patients keep active, return to exercise, or begin exercise for the first time.

Julienne is a very active mother of 2 children and is also a keen cyclist.

Claire Ryan

Claire Maule (nee Ryan)

Claire is an Associate Physiotherapist at Fitwise, having being a part of the Fitwise team since 2008. She has career interests that include exercise for women during the childbearing years and beyond, Clinical Pilates, low back and pelvic girdle pain, pelvic floor dysfunction and promoting health and wellbeing at all ages and stages of life.

On a personal note, Claire enjoys Pilates, running, and spending time with her husband and 2 young sons. 

Kath Callinan-Moore

Kath Callinan-Moore

Kath has been involved in women’s health for over 25 years. As an ante-natal educator, her particular passion is preparing women for the physical and emotional challenges of childbirth. Relaxation, breathing awareness, massage, movement and positioning are some of the resources she explores with pregnant women in the “Birthwise” sessions.

For those clients - both women and men - recovering from cancer surgery and having to deal with lymphoedema, Kath can assist with lymphatic massage, teaching home programs for lymphatic drainage and the fitting of compression garments.

As a mother of four children, she believes in being flexible and having a broad outlook.

Anita Bir

Anita Bir

Anita graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2009 as a Physiotherapist and also completed a Masters of Physiotherapy with Majors in Women's Health & Musculoskeletal Health at the University of Melbourne in 2014. She has completed all four levels of DMA Clinical Pilates training, Dry Needling certification as well as qualifications in Sports Physiotherapy and endeavours to provide holistic management for her patients combining manual and exercise therapies to help them achieve their goals. She has a keen interest in treating complex pelvic floor conditions affecting men, women and the LGBTQi community which include incontinence, pelvic pain and prolapse. 

Anita is also an experienced ante-natal educator and provides tailored birthing education sessions for pregnant women and their support partners in our “Birthwise” sessions. She loves to help prepare women for the mental and physical journey ahead and provide women a toolkit of resources to use on the big day.
Anita has extensive experience in treating complex musculoskeletal issues and a wide variety of injuries.
Outside the clinic, she enjoys presenting on Women’s Health related topics at professional development courses. Anita also teaches post graduate Physiotherapists and Doctors at the University of Melbourne and helped develop the Masters of Sports Medicine at the University of Melbourne. She is Vice Chair of the Victorian Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic Health Committee and has been an integral part of National Scientific Committees for the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

On a personal note, Anita loves to dance and is an accomplished classical Indian dancer. She is also fluent in Hindi and Punjabi.

Rachel Bell

Rachel Bell

Rachel graduated from La Trobe In 2007 with a double degree in Physiotherapy and Ergonomics. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings, both within the public and private sectors before joining Fitwise in 2013. 

Rachel is passionate about well-being especially during the childbearing years. After just recently having had two kids herself, Rachel understands the challenges around prioritising health and fitness during this period. One of Rachel’s keen interests is in Clinical Pilates and she thoroughly enjoys instructing programs for rehabilitation and general fitness across any life stage.

When not at work, Rachel loves spending time with her husband and two very busy kids, playing netball and baking. 

Abigail Heuver

Abigail Heuver (Currently on Mat. Leave)

Abbi graduated from La Trobe University in 2011 and completed her Post Graduate Certificate in pelvic floor rehabilitation at the University of Melbourne in 2017. She has a diverse clinical background, having worked across both the private and public health sectors, managing a variety of caseloads.

Abbi's passion is pelvic health and she enjoys helping with pelvic floor rehabilitation, pelvic girdle pain, chronic pain and general exercise during pregnancy and the post-natal period. Abbi combines her knowledge in the area of women’s and men’s health with her background in musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation to establish a holistic treatment plan.

When not at work, Abbi enjoys all things outdoors including mountain bike riding, snowboarding, water skiing and diving.

Cherry de Crespigny

Cherry de Crespigny

Cherry graduated in 1998 from Curtin University, Perth WA and has worked in a range of public and private settings in Australia and the UK, and more recently in Hong Kong.  She completed her post graduate certificate in pelvic floor Physiotherapy in 2016 and has a keen interest in pre and post natal well being, as well as pelvic floor health.  

Over the years Cherry has completed various Clinical Pilates training courses and has seen it's benefits in rehabilitating and preventing injuries and promoting good posture, core and pelvic floor function.  She loves that Pilates can benefit clients of all levels of fitness.  

Having two young boys of her own, Cherry understands the importance of safe exercise during pregnancy and the post natal recovery period, and enjoys helping clients get back to their own pre pregnancy fitness levels.

In her spare time, Cherry is a keen runner, hiker and swimmer.

Dennise Smith

Dennise graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland in 2004.

She worked as a musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in both the public and private sector in Scotland and New Zealand before coming to Melbourne in 2011.  Dennise has a clinical interest in lower back, pelvic girdle and hip pain and enjoys the challenge of bringing function and fun back into people's lives.

Dennise has completed post graduate training in DMA Clinical Pilates training, GEMT Dry needling and PINC cancer rehabilitation.

Outside of the clinic Dennise has recently traded in her running shoes for skates and immersed herself in the world of Roller Derby!  She enjoys everything the Melbourne lifestyle has to offer, and is most content at the beach with her dog.

Cherry de Crespigny

Fiona Grouber

Fiona graduated from La Trobe University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences/Masters of Physiotherapy Practice. She has a special interest in chronic low back pain and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Fiona is a firm believer in the ‘power of Pilates’ and has completed the entire Clinical Pilates equipment series with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI). She is additionally qualified in Dry Needling. She also works as a Physiotherapist on the maternity ward at Cabrini Hospital, delivering acute care to new mothers.

To further her passion in pelvic floor and women’s health Physiotherapy, Fiona completed her post-graduate certificate in pelvic floor Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne in 2017.

Fiona enjoys leading an active lifestyle and often participates in charity fun runs. She speaks Russian and French and loves travelling to new countries and exploring different cuisines.

Phoebe Kipen

Phoebe graduated from Monash in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science and Honours in Developmental Biology. After working for the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute for a year she went back to Monash to study Physiotherapy, graduating in 2018 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hon).

Phoebe is passionate about incorporating her science background into her clinical practice as a Physiotherapist. Her work in reproductive biology has given her an interest in men’s and women’s health. She has a clinical interest in lower limb, pelvis and low back conditions and enjoys working with clients to change chronic conditions as well as treating acute pain. She also has an interest in dance related injuries, completing a short placement with the Australian Ballet during her training.

Outside of work, Phoebe loves to be active and creative making jewelry, drawing and Irish dancing as much as possible.

Joanna Barry

    Joanna Graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland in 2012.

    She worked as a Physiotherapist for the National Health Service in the South West of England for a number of years before relocating to Melbourne in 2016. Since arriving in Australia, Joanna has worked in both the private and public sector, predominantly in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.

    Joanna has completed postgraduate training in DMA Clinical Pilates. She endeavours to provide holistic treatment combining, exercise, manual therapy and mindfulness techniques where possible to help her clients achieve their goals.

    Outside of work Joanna is passionate about keeping fit and active. She is happiest when in the great outdoors, running, cycling, swimming or hiking. She has completed numerous half marathons, triathlons and a half iron man. Joanna also enjoys yoga and meditation and strives to bring her passion for a healthy and active body and mind to her treatment sessions.

    Lucy Glasson

    Lucy graduated in 2008 from The University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. 

    Since then she has worked in a number of private practices across Melbourne. Lucy has a particular interest in assisting women during pregnancy and in the post natal period, including treatment of pelvic girdle pain as well as guiding them through safe exercise programs. 

    She enjoys empowering women to achieve their goals during this life changing time and to provide them with evidence based management for problems that may arise. Lucy also has training in Clinical Pilates, dry needling and sports Physiotherapy and enjoys using these skills to enhance her treatment. 

    Outside of work Lucy is a keen hockey player and gym goer. She also loves travelling, particularly to visit family in Tasmania and New Zealand. She has recently returned to work following maternity leave. She has 2 little girls who have given her great insight into the challenges of pregnancy, breastfeeding and sleep-deprived postnatal life!

    Lauren Cairns

    Lauren graduated from Griffith University in 2011 with a degree in Physiotherapy and Exercise Science. Since then she has worked extensively within the community health setting in North Queensland before moving to Melbourne at the end of 2016. 

    Lauren has always had an interest in women’s and pelvic health which led to her commencing the Masters in Continence and Women’s health program through Curtin University. She is passionate about the benefits of exercise and education to empower women in the management of their condition throughout the life stages. 

    Outside of work Lauren loves to travel, read a great book and she also enjoys swimming.  So far, she is loving the Melbourne weather and definitely the lower humidity.

    Imogen Sist

    Imogen graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) in 2019. Imogen also has qualifications in both clinical and fitness-based Pilates, with several years experience teaching group exercise classes including Pilates, strength and conditioning, stretch and release, and dance/movement. 
    Imogen has special clinical interest in exercise for women and particularly loves Pilates for it can be so beneficial to all. She is passionate about educating her clients to help empower them throughout their life stages, believing in the power of knowledge. Imogen is highly aware of the need for a healthy mind and body for success in all areas and strives to provide a holistic approach to her care.
    In her spare time Imogen enjoys an active lifestyle of being outdoors and at the beach, participating in group exercise classes of Pilates and HIIT and involving herself in meditation.

    Lily is qualified in Myotherapy and Remedial Massage Therapy from RMIT. 

    She is passionate about Women's health and is finishing her certificate qualification in pregnancy massage. With the practice of remedial massage she hopes to help clients achieve optimal health and well-being through massage therapy.

    Andrea Carloni – Remedial Massage Therapist

    Andrea grew up in Toronto, Canada and knew at an early age that she had a passion for aiding those with concerns. With a background as a Personal Trainer and Holistic Nutritionist, she utilizes her knowledge and skills to compliment her treatments as a Remedial Massage Therapist.

    Prior to arriving in Melbourne, Andrea worked as a Registered Massage Therapist in Toronto with a specific interest in Neurology, Women’s Health and the Rehabilitation sector.  She has worked with a diverse clientele and is constantly fascinated by the journey of the healing body.  She believes in a holistic approach to healthcare and uses a broad set of tools to educate and empower her clients to maintain optimal function.

    In addition, Andrea is currently studying Myotherapy and is excited to incorporate these new modalities into her treatments mid-year 2020.

    Outside of work, Andrea enjoys a healthy and active lifestyle by going to the gym, spending time outdoors, hiking, practicing mindfulness, meditation, and cooking/baking healthy recipes.

    Emma Caldwell – Accredited Practicing Dietitian

    Emma graduated from the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2010. She is an experienced Accredited Practicing Dietitian having worked across various Melbourne public and private hospitals in the acute and rehabilitation streams for the the past 9 years. 

    Emma specialises in pregnancy, fertility & infant/childhood nutrition. Having successfully completed the Early Life Nutrition Workshop with Nutrition Plus in 2019, Emma has since become inspired to study to become a Lactation Consultant (due to finish late 2020). Emma particularly loves working with mums-to-be and new mums to help uncomplicated pregnancy nutrition. 

    Emma's other speciality lies within the Non-Diet approach. Utilising health at every size (HAES) principles, Emma helps her clients improve their diet and lifestyle through a nurturing, client-centred approach. Emma loves seeing her clients meet their goals and strongly believes in a holistic approach to improve all aspects of health. 

    When not at work, Emma enjoys spending time with her family, her husband and two young children. 

    In her "spare" time, Emma is a bit of a gym-junkie, having previously taught Les Mills BodyPump and BodyStep classes, she loves a good workout, followed by strong Melbourne coffee.

    Lee has been very happily working at Fitwise since early in 2011. Her working life has always revolved around the health/medical industry and she has managed specialist practices for many years. She loves the culture at Fitwise, the wonderful staff and stopping for a chat with patients as she wanders through the waiting room.

    Lee is married with 2 beautiful 'young adult' children and outside of work enjoys dabbling in non-professional theatre, reading and ‘cooking up a storm’ to entertain friends.

    Sharna joined the Fitwise team early in 2012 and is based at our East Melbourne practice.  

    Sharna and her husband are kept very busy by their 3 beautiful children; a daughter and two sons. 

    In her spare time, she most enjoys family camping trips, playing and watching basketball, spending time in the veggie patch and going on runs with Zarla, their very, very spoilt dog.

    She looks forward to exploring more of Australia with her family in the future.

    Caitlin started working at Fitwise in February 2018 and is based at our Armadale practice. 

    Caitlin has a background in administration within the allied health industry, and enjoys working with patients and practitioners. 

    Outside of work, Caitlin loves travelling, yoga and of course, her dog Finn!

    Rebecca joined the Fitwise Team in May 2014. Rebecca is an avid photographer, she enjoys photographing nature, people and of course, her cat.

    Rebecca has a deep interest in many forms of art, such as reading and heavy metal music and enjoys adventures to Scandinavia.

    Georgina has been working across both practices keeping clients happy since June 2016 and more recently has been looking after administration at Armadale.

    Georgina hopes to return to study a health-related postgraduate course next year and, outside of work, she enjoys baking for friends and family, watching movies and swimming.

    Jackie joined the team in July 2016. Just having graduated from Biomedical Science, she is now studying Physiotherapy at Monash University.

    When she isn't studying or planning her next holiday, Jackie loves playing netball, going to the footy, cooking and spoiling her dog Barney.

    Felicity joined the Fitwise team in January 2018.  She is studying Business and Arts at Monash University after returning from her gap year in the U.K.

    Felicity enjoys travelling, healthy baking and running across all parts of beautiful Melbourne.

    Danielle joined the Fitwise team in June 2019, and enjoys welcoming clients at the front desk (with a smile!) of both the East Melbourne and Armadale practices.

    Danielle has a background in nursing (aged-care and orthopaedic), customer service, accounting and reception. Danielle also works part-time at her husband’s tax accounting practice in the CBD.

    Originally from Sydney, Danielle moved to Melbourne in 2017, and married her wonderful husband at a beautiful celebration in Albert Park. Danielle has 2 cheeky teens (daughter and son) who love to keep her active, laughing and mentally challenged 24/7. When not at work, Danielle likes spending time with her minions/teenagers, playing practical jokes on family, Body Balance and meditation, reading history novels, watching Outlander and making roast dinners in her new oven.

    Mimi joined the Fitwise team in February 2020 and works across both practices in East Melbourne and Armadale!

    In her spare time, Mimi enjoys reading, learning to roller skate and working on personal art projects. 

    She has hopes of becoming a cat owner in the future despite her allergies!

    Emelia joined the Fitwise team in March 2020 and can be seen welcoming patients at both the East Melbourne and Armadale practices.

    When she’s not working, Emelia spends her free time enjoying brunch, historical novels, going to the theatre and exploring art! 

    She is also the proud parent of two lovely children - her pets, that is.
