Patient Information - Stage 3 (2.0) Practice Update

Patient Information - Stage 3 (2.0) Practice Update

We hope everyone is well and doing okay after the reinstatement of stage 3 restrictions across the state. We wish to provide an update on what this means for our services over the next 6 weeks.

Our East Melbourne and Armadale practices will remain open. We are an essential service and can safely continue to offer care for patients both in-practice and via Telehealth. There will be no change to our consultation services, if you have an upcoming appointment with us, that remains as scheduled.

The only service that is impacted by the restrictions are our group clinical physio classes. We have made the decision to pause all group sessions until mid-August 2020. As we did during the last lock down, clients can opt for a 1:1 session instead and pay the same price as they would a group class, at the casual rate. We hope this will enable clients to continue their individual program. Family members who live in the same household can continue to attend together, if they did previously.

If you are currently booked into a group class, a member of our reception team will be in touch to discuss your options over the next 6 weeks. Please note, as we are offering 1:1 sessions your preferred day and time may not be an option, however if you hold a permanent spot in this session you will not lose it when groups return. We are doing our very best to accommodate clients and we thank you for being so kind and understanding with these changes.

Visiting the practice? Here is what you need to know:

Providing you are well, seeking treatment from a physiotherapist is an essential reason to leave home. The Chief Medical Officer recommends that it's imperative you continue to seek treatment and manage health concerns and conditions through lock down.

Our strict hygiene and screening protocols remain in place to ensure the safety of clients, the community and staff, they include;

  • A health status questionnaire to be completed before attending or upon entry
  • A temperature check upon entry to the practice
  • Hospital grade hand sanister upon entry and throughout the practice
  • Social distancing measures and person capacity limits
  • All staff at Fitwise have completed the COVID-19 infection control government training course
  • Following advice from the Chief Medical Officer, all staff and patients will be required to wear a mask at all times
  • Regular cleaning inline with our COVID-19 infection control policy. To view our infection control policy, please click here.

Our first priority is ensuring you feel safe and comfortable, if you'd like to discuss anything before your appointment, please contact our reception team at your preferred location who are happy to assist.

Not visiting the practice? Here is what we can do for you at home:

If you are unwell, self-isolating, staying home/limiting your travel - we can still care for you. We are able to address all conditions that we treat in-practice via an online consultation. Our practitioners can provide thorough assessments, tailored advice, education and home exercise programs to keep you progressing your health care from home. If you do have any concerns a physiotherapist can assist with, while we have more time at home it's a good time to look after yourself and book an appointment.

Telehealth consultations are claimable on private health insurance if you have the appropriate extra's cover, they are also rebatable by Medicare for clients who hold a valid Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan.

For questions regarding cost and rebates, please contact our reception staff. We have recently re-adjusted our pricing schedule, so that clients can access essential care during these tough times.

Thank you again for all your messages of support and kindness shown to our team while we juggle these changes. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding.

Please stay well, look after yourself and others and we look forward to continuing to care for you during this period.
