COVID-19 Patient Information

Updated: 22nd of May 2020

To our valued Fitwise clients,

We hope you are keeping well and warm as the colder weather sets in!

It's positive to see that we are moving in the right direction with our battle against COVID-19. As adjustments to restrictions come into place, we wish to provide an update on what this means for Fitwise and our services going forward. Please be assured that while we welcome these changes, our priority is to ensure the safety of our clients, community and staff.

Please read on for a full services update, plus information about our extra screening measures.

CLINICAL PHYSIO GROUP SESSIONS:
The Victorian Health Department and the Australian Physiotherapy Association are comfortable for allied health practices to run clinical group sessions. This means, our group clinical physio classes can return. While this is exciting news, with safety being our priority, we are implementing a gradual return to this service. Here is how it will work…

+ From Monday the 25th of May inclusive, clinical physio groups will return with a maximum of 2 clients per class.
+ From Tuesday the 9th of June inclusive, clinical physio groups will return with a maximum of 3 clients per class.

We have a brand-new timetable for clinical physio sessions, please click below to view.

> ARMADALE TIMETABLE

> EAST MELBOURNE TIMETABLE

We understand that clients may still prefer a 1:1 with their treating physiotherapist, we can still offer you this as an option, however as we can safely offer group sessions, our regular 1:1 pricing will apply from Tuesday the 9th of June 2020. Please see pricing schedule below for clarity - this is our pre-COVID pricing schedule, there have been no changes.

Please note that all clients who have 1:1’s booked will be contacted by our reception team to discuss preferred options.

IN-PRACTICE CONSULTATIONS:
Our current 30-minute limit on in-practice consultations will be lifted over the next 2 weeks.

+ From Monday the 25th of May inclusive, the option for a 40-minute consultation will return.
+ From Monday the 1st of June inclusive, the option for a 60-minute consultation will return. This will take us back to our full list of appointment duration options.

This applies to physiotherapy, remedial massage and dietetic services.

GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES:
We have no immediate plans to re-introduce our group exercise sessions - inclusive of P40, Strengthwise, Fitness Pilates, C60 and Physio Stretch & Flow. These sessions will remain online via live stream.

OPENING HOURS:
There will be no changes to our current opening hours for now. They remain as follows;

Monday: 7:30am - 6:00pm
Tuesday: 7:30am - 6:00pm
Wednesday: 7:30am - 6:00pm
Thursday: 8:00am - 6:00pm
Friday: 8:00am - 2:30pm
Saturday: CLOSED
Sunday: CLOSED

TELEHEALTH CONSULTATIONS:
We are still offering telehealth services - this will always be an option for clients. There have been no adjustments to our telehealth pricing schedule since our previous update, here they are again for reference.

SCREENING PROTOCOLS:

Contact-less temperature checks:
You will have your temperature checked upon entry to the practice. If you have a temperature of 38+, you will not be able to proceed to your appointment.

If you are rushing or have been exercising on your way to the practice, you may be warm upon entry which can give an inaccurate reading. To avoid potential disappointment from missing your consultation, we ask clients to arrive in the practice vicinity 5 to 10 minutes early. This will allow time for your temperature to normalise before you enter. In the interest of keeping everyone healthy, there will be no exceptions to our temperature policy.

Clients who are unwell (respiratory symptoms):
If you are unwell with any respiratory symptoms, it is imperative that you call to cancel your appointment. It is now our policy that prior to re-scheduling your appointments and re-commencing at the practice, you have a negative COVID-19 test or a 14-day exclusion period. While you await test results or during the exclusion period, we can offer you telehealth consultations with your treating physiotherapist, as well as supervised online exercise sessions. There are many things we can do to help you from home, our team are ready and happy to assist you.

Maximum person capacity signs:
You will observe around our practice, signs that clarify for clients how many people we can have in a particular room at once, while complying with social distancing guidelines.

Have you downloaded the COVIDSafe app?
We strongly encourage all clients of Fitwise to download the COVIDSafe App. This is a very important tool to help ensure the safety of all.

Unsure how to download? See below for instructions. If you get stuck, ask our reception team during your next visit or give us a call, we are happy to assist you getting set up.

If you already have it downloaded - thank you. Every step to protect our health counts.

Our strict hygiene practices remain in place. To view our full infection control protocol, please click here

NOTICE TO EAST MELBOURNE CLIENTS:
Some good news! The road works are almost complete and most of the removed car parks have been returned. Please take care through the Albert St/Lansdowne St intersection as it has changed.

We will leave it here for now – we hope to bring you some non-COVID related news sometime soon as we settle into our ‘new-normal’.

As always, if you have any questions regarding the changes or our current protocols, we are here to help. Please don’t hesitate to contact our reception staff.

Thank you for your continued support, kindness and patience.

Stay well (and warm!)
The Fitwise team x
