Notice to East Melbourne Clients: Albert Street Closure

Notice to East Melbourne Clients: Albert Street Closure

The M41 water main supplies drinking water to over 350,000 residents and businesses in Melbourne’s inner suburbs. It runs from Merri Creek, Northcote to Wellington Parade, East Melbourne. The existing water main is almost 100 years old and deteriorating and needs to be replaced to prevent leaks which have created significant community disturbance during emergency repair works.

Construction of the M41 Merri Creek to MCG Water Main Renewal Project is expected to recommence on Albert Street, East Melbourne from Monday 15 July 2019.

• The westbound lanes of Albert Street will be closed between Clarendon Street and Eades Street from Monday 15 July until Friday 30 August 2019.

• Albert Street will be fully closed at the Eades Street intersection from Friday 2 August until Friday 30 August 2019.

• A northbound lane on Eades Street will remain open during these works.

• Cyclists will be asked to dismount in accordance with local laws and detour via the Fitzroy Gardens. Please note, penalties may apply for non-compliance.

We understand these works will cause inconvenience to our patients, we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. Please allow extra travel time before your appointment and investigate alternative options for parking. For questions or assistance please don't hesitate to contact our East Melbourne rooms on (03) 9486 0512.
