What is Fitwise Physiotherapy?
fitwise physiotherapy is a private physiotherapy practice
which combines the skills and experience of a team of qualified
physiotherapists.
We provide high quality evidence-based physiotherapy, education
and exercise programs tailored to fit the individual needs of your
body at all stages of life.
Our practice is accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy
Association (APA) and all staff are members of the APA and the
Continence & Women's Health Special Interest Group.

Musculoskeletal
Physiotherapy
One on one consultations for the assessment and treatment of
spinal pain (neck, mid back, lower back), muscle and joint pain or
injuries.
Clinical
Pilates
Fitwise Physiotherapists have post-graduate training in Clinical
Pilates. Clinical Pilates focuses on exercises to improve
“core muscle” control – spinal, abdominal and pelvic floor
muscles. Clinical Pilates can be used to prevent and
treat:

We offer individually tailored pilates exercise programs using
specialised equipment in the pilates studio on an individual basis,
in small groups (max 3 participants to one physiotherapist) or
unsupervised sessions.
Pre / Post natal
Physiotherapy
Individual consultations to assess and treat common pregnancy
and post natal conditions including back pain, pelvic girdle pain,
mastitis, postural related muscular pain, rib pain and pelvic
floor conditions.
We can provide exercise advice to improve or maintain “core
muscles” control and general fitness which optimises good posture
and provides increased support during pregnancy. A fitter and
healthier pregnancy improves your post natal recovery allowing you
enjoy motherhood regain your pre-pregnancy shape faster.

Continence and pelvic floor treatment issues are common problems
for women (particularly during childbearing and menopausal years)
and men. The team at Fitwise include physiotherapists who
have post-graduate qualifications in Continence and Pelvic Floor
rehabilitation. We provide treatment for pelvic
floor issues, continence problems (bladder and bowel), prolapse and
before / after prostate surgery. Your privacy and
confidentiality are guaranteed.
Group Exercise Classes
FITWISE MAMMAS
(COMBO)
Have the best of both worlds in our Combo
class! 30 minutes of low-impact aerobic
exercise and muscle toning exercises using the fitball and hand
weights, followed by 30 minutes of Pilates to improve your “core”
control and posture.
FITWISE MAMMAS
(SPIN)
Stationary indoor cycling class specifically modified for
pregnant and post natal women, but open to all participants seeking
a challenging low impact cardiovascular workout. No
complicated moves to learn, physiotherapist instructors and
motivating music that begs your legs to pedal.
MATWORK
PILATES
A 60 minute class targeting your deep
abdominal, spinal and pelvic floor muscles (“the core”) using the
fitball, bands and balance discs. Enjoy better posture, less
back ache and an improved pelvic floor control!
STRENGTHWISE
Strengthwise (formally Older, Fitter, Stronger) is a program
designed and instructed by Fitwise Physiotherapists to meet the
specific health needs of women over 40. The program includes
upper and lower body exercises using light to medium weights for
osteoporosis prevention, improved muscle strength and good
posture. Attention is also given to balance exercises
for fall prevention and pelvic floor exercises. Fitness and
fun with other older, fitter, stronger women.

PREGNANCY
WISE
COMPLIMENTARY early pregnancy seminar. Growing a baby is
hard work…..and hard on your body. This seminar
will provide you with vital tips on keeping your BODY healthy and
happy during these important 40 weeks. Topics include
back and pelvic floor care and the do’s and don’ts of exercise
during pregnancy. Classes run twice a month and bookings are
required.
BIRTHWISE
In our BIRWTHWISE classes, our focus is to EMPOWER you to
explore ways to physically and mentally prepare for an ACTIVE
BIRTH. You’ve done the reading and attended the education
classes, now let us help you put all that theory into
practice. One hour daytime or evening classes which
involve: massage, breathing and effective pushing techniques,
practicing positions and scenarios to gain confidence for what is
ahead and coping mechanisms for pain. Call Fitwise to book
your class/es.
Personal Training
One on one or small group fitness training specifically tailored
to your individual needs and exercise goals. Personal
training sessions are conducted by Fitwise Physiotherapists and are
an ideal way to kick start your new fitness program, reinspire your
exercise goals or get you back on track after injury or
pregnancy. Single sessions or packages of 10
available.
